It is rumored that demons were once mortals who embraced their
hunger. By indulging not in satiation, but in want, they master and
beget their hunger in others.
All hungers lead one to desperation as they grow. This is how
mortals are broken. Those who fall to the depths of their hunger are
like to become thralls or beasts with the singular drive to sate it.
